Ordinary doors age badly outdoors: they swell, fade, let air and water through. The Ariete door is designed for permanent exposure, with three defences that work together. And when you lock it, the leaf compresses onto the seals and seals the entrance: even strong gusts stay a distant noise.

How much an external armoured door costs
Prices for Ariete external armoured doors start from around 3,500 euros. More than an internal door, and there is a concrete reason: panels treated for water and sun, a sealing threshold, special seals. The same applies to single-leaf doors as to larger armoured entrance doors: the costs move on the same four levers.

Yes. Ariete external armoured doors are built for permanent exposure. The panels are treated with waterproof, anti-UV paints and materials, the aluminium threshold and the seals keep out water and air, the hinges and profiles are protected from damp and corrosion, including in coastal areas. Performance and appearance stay just as they were on day one even after years outdoors.
For a detached house, especially if it is isolated or has an entrance not visible from the street, class RC4 is the natural choice: it resists attacks with heavy tools over a prolonged time, and costs only a little more than class RC3. Class RC3 remains valid for terraced houses in built-up areas. We give you the made-to-measure advice during the consultation, after seeing the exposure.
Yes. The Aurora model was created precisely for the arched entrances of period homes and old villages, designed on the real opening. And every model in the range is made to custom size, in width and in height: the door adapts to the entrance, never the other way round.
In most cases yes: the new door is fitted on the existing opening, usually in a single day, also dealing with thresholds and differences in floor level. Our professional’s site survey is there for exactly this: to work out what needs doing beforehand, so that on fitting day there are no surprises.
Yes. Ariete external armoured doors reach a certified transmittance of 0.8 W/m²K: the door stops being the point where the house loses heat: the cold air stays beyond the threshold and the heating works less. The same package of seals and insulation cuts up to 44.8dB of noise from the street.

Yes. With the Italian Security Bonus you deduct up to 50% of the cost, even without renovation work under way: you need a certified burglar-resistant door, fitting by an authorised company, traceable payment and an invoice. If the door improves energy efficiency it can also fall under the Italian Home Bonus or Ecobonus. We sort out the paperwork together.
In Italy a single-leaf external armoured door usually measures 80, 85 or 90cm in width by 200 or 210cm in height, with the handle between 85 and 95cm off the ground. These sizes cover most entrances; for unusual openings, arches and period portals we make to custom size, including the arched Aurora model. Every Ariete door is, in any case, made to measure on your opening.
