Internal
Armoured Doors
One door keeps out three things: whoever shouldn’t come in, the noise of the building and the cold of the landing.
Four doors. Four solutions for four situations at home.
Ariete’s internal armoured doors are designed for the entrance to a flat in a block, where the stairwell acts as an echo chamber and where the look has to suit the communal building.
All four models of armoured door for flats share the same security core: the Ariete square defender, double electro-galvanised steel sheet, and a patented European cylinder. And the same baseline thermal and acoustic insulation: a double perimeter seal on the closing edge, a draught-excluder blade, and insulating, sound-absorbing panels.
What changes is the burglar resistance class (RC3 or RC4), the type of hinges (visible or concealed) and how you use the door: the entrance to your home or an internal door between rooms. Below you’ll find each one, with the profile of the person who chooses it most often.

The 3 reasons to choose Ariete
For those living in a block of flats: protection, quiet, warmth
The most secure armoured door in Italy
The stairwell stays outside. Quiet returns to your home.
Warmth in, the cold of the landing out.
The first thing that protects a home is the door that closes it.
Ariete’s internal security door is built as a single body: double electro-galvanised steel sheet, a lock integrated into the leaf, and a square defender with chamfered corners that neutralises the scaffolding-pipe technique. It withstands crowbars, screwdrivers, drills, picks, bumping and key impressioning. And more than withstanding the attempts, it discourages them: a burglar faced with a door like this tries for a few moments, then moves up to the next floor.
So hard to break into that burglars don't even try.
The body of the door and the lock are a single structure, and every element is designed to stop a specific method of break-in.
- Square anti-pull defender with chamfered corners: stops the scaffolding-pipe technique
- Chrome-steel and nickel cylinder: anti-drill and anti-bumping
- Internal door restrictor: you talk to whoever rings by opening just a crack
What's inside your home stays inside your home.
The fire-resistant mineral-wool insulation and the two sealing gaskets, one inside and one outside, absorb sound vibrations in both directions. The noise of the stairwell stays out. Your phone calls, your arguments, your Saturday-night music and the TV series you watch late into the night stay yours.
- Internal fire-resistant mineral-wool insulation
- Internal weather seal on the leaf
- External weather seal on the frame
- Certified acoustic insulation from 39 to 44.8 dB
Italy's Number 1 Armoured Doors
An armoured front door that seals out draughts too
An internal armoured door does its job fully only if it also stops the air slipping between door and frame.
Ours does it with three systems working together.
Draught-excluder blade
Sealing gaskets
Finishing trims
The lock every armoured door should have.
Think how many hands a home’s keys have passed through: the tenant before you, the renovation firm, the copy left with a relative. An ordinary key can be cut anywhere, and you lose count of the copies. Not the Ariete key: it has a patented profile that generates hundreds of thousands of combinations, and no ironmonger, no key-cutting shop, no app can copy it. A new copy is made by us alone, once we’ve checked that you’re the owner.
- Latest-generation European cylinder, class WK4
- Patented profile with a high number of combinations
- Wear-resistant silver-nickel keys
- Keys reproducible only by Ariete, after proof of ownership
And if you lose your keys, you sort it out yourself, in thirty seconds.
A stolen bag, keys lost on holiday, a set that simply won’t turn up: it happens. With the 5+1+1 system you take the emergency key, turn it in the lock, and every old key stops working there and then. No technicians at home, no waiting, no cylinders to replace: from that moment the door recognises only the new keys. And for a second mishap you have a second emergency key. That’s exactly why the system is called 5+1+1.
- 5 sealed owner keys
- 1 emergency key that recodes the cylinder
- 1 spare emergency backup key

Internal armoured doors: prices
How much an internal armoured door costs
Prices start at around €2,900 for the RC3-class models and reach around €5,000 for versions with electronic components or heavily worked panels. Four variables move the price: here they are, with their real weight.

Frequently asked questions
The exposure changes, and so do the materials. An internal door is designed for the entrance to a flat in a block, where it gets no direct rain, sun or temperature swings: it has panels with more decorative finishes, suited to interiors. An external door is built to withstand water, UV rays, wind and temperature swings, and is designed for detached houses and independent homes. The burglar resistance class, though, is the same: both reach RC4 class.
RC3 class is the starting choice: it protects against crowbars, screwdrivers and picks, the tools most common in break-ins in blocks of flats. RC4 class also withstands power tools and prolonged attempts, and costs only a little more for far greater value: that’s why many people choose it even for a flat. For ground floors, raised floors, easily accessed top-floor flats or busy buildings it’s the natural choice. Classes 1 and 2 are unsuitable for a front door. We give you the final recommendation during the consultation, once we’ve seen the context.
Yes, and clearly so. Ariete doors reach up to 44.8 dB of certified acoustic insulation, thanks to the fire-resistant mineral-wool insulation, the double perimeter seal and the double steel sheet. In plain terms: the lift setting off at 6am, the footsteps upstairs and the voices on the landing stay outside. And what happens inside your home stays inside.
Yes. As well as entrance doors, Ariete makes Unica, the sliding armoured door for interiors: it protects the bedroom, the study or the room where you keep your valuables, and disappears into the wall when open. You’ll find it above among the four models, or on the page dedicated to the sliding armoured door.
Yes. Our in-house joinery reproduces communal panels to measure, matching existing designs, colours and finishes. Even historic panels such as “Vecchia Milano” or “Vecchia Genova”, or designs created for a single building, can be reproduced exactly. On the inside you’re free to choose whatever style you prefer.
Yes. We can make a “mock double-leaf” door: it keeps the look of a double leaf, but technically it’s a single-block door, sturdier and more secure. When the size of the opening allows, it’s the ideal solution for a clean, striking entrance. If you prefer two real leaves, we make them in RC3 or RC4 class.
It starts at around €2,900 and reaches around €5,000 for models with electronic components. The variables that move the price: burglar resistance class (RC3 or RC4), sizes (standard or non-standard), chosen accessories and external panel (plain or made to measure). We give you the quote straight away during the consultation, based on your measurements: the site survey before production confirms it.
Yes. The purchase and installation can qualify for Italy’s Security Bonus or other tax deductions aimed at protecting the home. The door must be certified burglar-resistant and installed by an authorised firm, with traceable payment and an invoice in your name. The deduction goes up to 50% of the cost, recoverable over ten years. In the case of a renovation it can also fall under Italy’s Bonus Casa or the Ecobonus, if it improves energy efficiency. We’ll help you with the correct paperwork.
Yes, and it’s one of the most requested replacements. The installation is done within the day and in most cases we keep the dimensions of the existing opening, with no building work. The new door improves three things at once: security, acoustic insulation and thermal sealing. The external panel can be matched to respect the building’s look; the inside you personalise however you like.
