Grey has no wavelength of its own: it comes from the balance between white and black and, at its darkest, it turns towards a dense depth. It reflects light in a balanced way, so the eye reads it effortlessly, without tiring. What is left is an immediate sense of order, depth and solidity that relaxes your gaze the moment you walk in.

Neutral, but never anonymous.

The mind reads this deep neutrality as quiet, authoritative elegance. It is the colour of the boundary and of the threshold, the one that sits in between: more solid than white, more open than black. For centuries grey was the colour of everyday life, the colour of stone and raw wool. Then the Industrial Revolution carried it into architecture, with iron, steel and concrete. The quiet you take back

The fire-resistant mineral-wool insulation stops the noise of the stairwell, the lift and the street. Close your front door and the noise outside drops away at once: sound reduction reaches up to 44.8 dB. Very few doors insulate as well as this.

Goodbye draughts, inside and out

A double seal and a draught-excluder blade with five air chambers seal the opening: the warmth stays in, the cold of the landing stays out, and smells from the stairwell disappear. A lighter bill, more comfort, twelve months a year.

It is one of the colours that shows dirt least: fingerprints, dust and small marks show far less than on a white. Fewer wipes with a cloth, an entrance that always looks tidy.

The oven-baked powder coating is stable under UV light: the grey stays deep and even for years, including on external models exposed to the sun.

A smooth surface: a damp cloth and you are done. No special products, no more care than any other colour.

Frequently asked questions about anthracite grey entrance doors

Does anthracite grey fade or wash out in the sun?

No, not if the paint finish is of good quality. Ariete doors use oven-baked powder-coating cycles that are stable under UV light: the grey stays deep and even for years, including on external models exposed to the sun. Fading affects cheap paints, not ours.

Can I choose the exact shade of grey I have in mind?

Yes. The most requested reference is RAL 7016, but we produce any shade on the RAL scale, from the lightest grey to the darkest. If you already have one at home, in your window frames or your internal doors, we compare it in the showroom and calibrate the door to match, so the pairing is perfect.

What is the difference between a painted grey and a laminated one?

Painting gives a full, even shade, ideal for modern and industrial styles. Laminate and veneer allow textured finishes, such as a dark wood effect. In the showroom you can touch both and choose the right one for your home.

Can I have the door grey outside and a different colour inside?

Of course. The inner and outer panels are independent: outside you fit the grey that ties in with the facade or with your other window frames, inside you choose the colour you love or reproduce the panel required by the block of flats. Our in-house joinery workshop makes both to measure.

Does anthracite get dirty or marked easily?

Quite the opposite. It is among the colours that best hide fingerprints, dust and small scratches, far better than a white. The Ariete painted surface is smooth and hard-wearing: it cleans with a damp cloth and needs less looking after than a very pale shade.

Is anthracite grey suitable for a small or poorly lit entrance too?

It needs thinking about. It is a deep shade and in a very small, dark entrance it can close the space in. There it is better to go for tone-on-tone harmony with the wall, or to pair it with a pale area. In a large or bright entrance, on the other hand, it gives depth and elegance without weighing things down.
